Why Was the Rulebook Created?
Hive stands as the first platform to introduce exclusive commercial licenses and royalty payments. These new methods can be complex, so we've created this rulebook to simplify and clarify the rules of Hive Commercial licensing. Our goal is to ensure complete transparency between designers, license holders, and Cubee. Additionally, we've introduced new rules to better align the interests of designers and license holders, fostering a more collaborative and profitable environment for all.
TL;DR - Important Rules to Know
Here are some of the most important rules introduced in the new rulebook:
Exclusivity Period: Exclusive designs must now remain exclusive for at least six months. After six months, if a design does not collect enough royalties ($200 in one month), it can be reclassified as non-exclusive by the designer.
Sales Reporting: Exclusive sellers must report their sales monthly, even if no sales were made. Failure to respond for three consecutive months could result in license suspension.
Crediting rules remain unchanged.
