Why ads matter: Running ads accelerates learning. Instead of waiting weeks for organic traffic, you’ll quickly see which products attract impressions, clicks, and favourites. Even a small daily budget puts your listings in front of more buyers.
How they work: You choose which listings to promote and set a daily budget. Etsy then distributes your ads across search and category results.
The goal: treat ads as a testing tool, not just for traffic, but to learn which listings buyers respond to. What can you learn from it?
- Impressions (are people seeing your listing?)
- Clicks (are they interested enough to learn more?)

Practice
You’ll launch Etsy Ads to test demand and gather early performance data.
Go to Etsy Ads in Shop Manager.
Select all active listings for promotion.
Set a daily budget of $3–10.
Run ads for at least 5 days without making changes.
Track impressions, clicks, and favourites for each listing.
Record the performance results in a simple spreadsheet or notebook.

You’re ready to move forward when Etsy Ads are running across all your listings, have been active for at least five days, and have generated measurable impressions, clicks, and favourites.
If some products still show little or no engagement, let the ads run a bit longer before continuing. Patience here gives you clearer signals about which listings have real market appeal.
