Get found by the right buyers

Optimise Etsy Search with eRank

A product can’t sell if no one sees it. Optimising for the right keywords ensures your listings match what real buyers are searching for.

Learn

In Step 1, you used eRank to choose products based on demand and competition. Now that your listings are live, you’ll use eRank in a different way. To optimise those listings so buyers can actually find them. Optimisation is the process of choosing the right keywords. The tool is the same, but the goal is different: product selection vs. search visibility.

Every word in your titles, tags, and descriptions signals to Etsy what your product is about.

Why keywords matter: If you use vague or uncommon terms, your listing may never appear in search results.

Long-tail keywords: These are more specific phrases like “geometric cactus planter” instead of just “planter.” Long-tail terms often bring in buyers who are closer to making a purchase and face less competition.

How eRank helps: eRank’s Listing Audit tool shows you:

  • Which of your current keywords are strong.

  • Where you’re missing opportunities.

  • Which tags could be replaced with higher-value terms.

  • How your titles and descriptions score for SEO.

By learning to read an eRank audit, you’ll know exactly where your listings need improvement to get discovered by the right buyers. Disclaimer

Practice

You’ll use eRank’s Listing Audit tool to identify keyword gaps and strengthen your SEO.

  1. Connect your Etsy shop to eRank.

  2. Run a Listing Audit on 3 live listings.

  3. Identify 3–5 high-volume, lower-competition keywords for each listing.

  4. Update your titles to include one or two of these keywords naturally, keeping them easy to read.

  5. Replace weak or duplicate tags with stronger ones.

  6. Refresh your descriptions to use the new keywords while keeping a natural, buyer-friendly tone.

Finish this Challenge

You’re ready to progress when 3 listings have been audited in eRank, updated with 3–5 high-value keywords, and improved relevance in search terms.

If you can’t clearly see which keywords were added or which weak ones were replaced, repeat your optimisation work before you continue.
