Start with research, not guesswork
Find Your Winners with eRank
Your product choices will shape every sale you make. By researching before you commit, you ensure you’re working on items that people are actively looking for, not just what you think will sell. This step is about identifying products with strong demand and manageable competition so every step after this builds on a proven foundation.

What is eRank?
eRank is a research tool built for Etsy sellers. It shows you what buyers are actually searching for, how often those searches happen, and how much competition already exists for those terms. This data helps you spot products with strong demand (lots of people searching) and manageable competition (not too many sellers offering the same thing). Why this matters: if you choose products no one searches for, they won’t sell. If you choose products with overwhelming competition, your listings get buried. Using eRank balances both sides so you can focus on products with the best chance of success.
You can create a free account at erank.com. Once inside, the Keyword Explorer tool will be your main focus. This is where you’ll type in your product ideas and compare their monthly search volume to their competition score. Disclaimer

Log in to Hive and browse the catalogue. Write down 10 designs you like.
In eRank’s Keyword Explorer, search each product type.
Record monthly search volume and competition score for each product.
Prioritise items with high search volume and low-to-medium competition.
Narrow your list to 5 products that score well and that you personally like.
Save these 5 products in your Hive “My Favourites.” It will be easier to access them.
